MIXED RAGE COLLECTIVE
“The most radical thing to do, is to have some soul” Young Fathers 2023
MIXED RAGE is a collective of interdisciplinary artists based in the West Midlands and South London. Political, joyful, and melancholic; their individual works often consider the effects of ‘othering’, the lack of representation and daily micro-aggressions. Creativity as a platform for social justice and change is their mantra. Created in 2020 at the height of the pandemic, MIXED RAGE has swiftly evolved into a tight and professional collective of performance, digital and visual artists. The collective consists of the following artists:
Jane Thakoordin, a multidisciplinary (textile based) participatory artist whose Guyanese background is peppered in her work through vibrant colour and textiles. @janethakoordin_
Sevonah Golabi, a street artist, paste up artist and writer; her Brummie pride can be seen through her Love Letters to Birmingham pasted around walls in the city. @_q_o_n
Sherrie Edgar, a multimedia tour-de-force, using film, sound and photography to tell stories that are personal and impactful. @sherriegram
Sina Leasuasu, a Polynesian artist from New Zealand, whose reflections on mental health and indigenous identity are told through various mediums – especially textiles. @stuffby seener
Niall Singh, collage artist, poet and musician, whose work is unashamedly disruptive and brimming with social commentary. @niall_singh
